They are seeking a Senior Director of Health Plan Accounting to provide financial leadership and ensure the accuracy of health plan accounting processes, financial reporting, and compliance with SOX controls.ResponsibilitiesOwns the end-to-end month-end close for health plan accounting, including the booking of medical expense reserves, revenue accruals (including RAF), capitation, and related reconciliations across the company’s payer partners. The Senior Director will be accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, and predictability of the health plan accounting close, and for delivering a standardized monthly narrative to the CFO, Controller, and FP&A leadershipResponsible for IBNR (Incurred But Not Reported) estimations and managing relationships with external actuariesOversee the preparation of journal entries to ensure accurate financial recordsManage settlement files related to financial transactions and agreementsEnsure timely SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) control implementation and response management to drive operational effectiveness in health plan financial reportingManage the audit process and address auditor inquiries related to health plan accountsOversee contractual relations and develop sound financial management processesEnsure accurate monthly financial reporting in a multi-company environment, including distributing key financial indicator reports to relevant departments and partnersEnsure that financial analysis requests from departments are appropriately prioritized, communicated, and completedContribute to achieving the business units’ mission, goals, and objectives while effectively measuring performance against financial goalsLead with financial expertise, ensuring sound decision-making and leadership in all aspects of health plan financePerform any additional financial duties as requested by senior leadershipSkills7 – 10 years senior finance management experience within a multi entity healthcare environment, preferably managed care and global risk arrangementsExperience must include 3-5 years prior experience in a senior level position managing a finance departmentExperience in a publicly traded companyExperience with SOX control managementBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related fieldStrong communication skills: ability to effectively interact with various department leaders and business partnersLeadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through othersStrategy and Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1–2 year time spanManagement: the ability to organize and manage multiple prioritiesProblem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional levelTechnical skills in current accounting principles and experience in financial reporting and analysis, cash flow management, mergers and acquisitionsCollaboration across the finance function, as well as with other departmentsResponsiveness and sense of urgencyMasters preferredCPA preferredCompany OverviewP3 Health Partners is a patient-centered, physician-led and population health-focused healthcare company.
