JOB TITLE: Staff Data Analyst
LOCATION: REMOTE
THE ROLE: As a Staff Data Analyst, you will play a central role in shaping the future of Splice by ensuring that decisions about what we build and how we build it are guided by robust and accurate data insights. You will join the existing analytics team and work as a key collaborator as we continue to modernize our data stack in an AI-first world. This is a highly-visible cross-functional role that can alternate between working with executive leadership and specific engineering teams.
TEAM INFORMATION: Our centralized analytics team supports Splice wherever data is present. This includes (but is not limited to) product analytics, marketing analytics and business operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Data Modeling: Build and maintain data models which drive valuable insights and support critical day to day workflows.
• XFN Partnerships: Translate complex questions into actionable metrics company-wide (across Product, Marketing, Audio Development and others)
• Activation & Growth Analytics: Partner with Product and Marketing to analyze user activation funnels, identify drop-off points, and design/interpret A/B tests.
• Dashboards & Self-Serve: Create and manage self-serve reporting tools and dashboards via Omni to track growth KPIs and overall product health.
• Analytics Infrastructure: Optimize and track use cases for different components of our data stack, including Omni, Hex and Segment. Drive adoption and propose alternative solutions where needed
• Ad Hoc Insights: Deliver data-driven insights to support leadership, product, and marketing stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years of experience in Data Analytics or a similar roles
• Demonstrated experience with BI platforms (e.g. Omni, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik) including semantic layer
• Strong knowledge of statistical concepts including trend analysis, hypothesis testing, and confidence intervals.
• Advanced SQL ability: Must be comfortable with advanced concepts including CTEs, ELT vs ETL and managing query costs across large datasets.
• Basic proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R
• Previous experience working within a product or marketing organization, with a good grasp of product development and go-to-market dynamics.
• Experience with enterprise data solutions across product analytics, data ingestion and reporting and contributing via git. We use Segment, Amplitude, LaunchDarkly, Omni, GitHub, BigQuery, SQLMesh, and Fivetran – among others
NICE TO HAVES:
• An understanding of Bayesian Inference
• Experience building and managing a data team roadmap
• Demonstrated experience in setting company-level KPIs
• Knowledge of sound engineering, musical foundations or experience working in the music industry
• Examples of using AI to improve day-to-day analytics team workflows
• Understanding of marketing analytics toolkits and workflows: deploying tracking pixels, managing/understanding ad spend, reconciling google analytics and internal data
• Experience working with Data Engineering teams to drive governance

The national pay range for this role is $160,272 – $200,340. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
