Financial Controller – progression to Finance Director

Financial Controller

Northamptonshire
Salary c. £65,000 – £75,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits
Full-time or part-time considered | Brand New Office-based (1 day WFH)

I am partnering with a growing, entrepreneurial construction business to appoint its first Financial Controller.

This is a newly created role, established to bring the finance function in-house and provide greater control, visibility and insight as the business continues to expand. With one new operation already underway and plans for another next year, the Financial Controller will play a central role in building a finance function capable of supporting that growth.

This is not a purely strategic or review-focused appointment. The successful person will need to be hands-on, with a strong grounding in management accounting and the willingness to take direct ownership of the numbers while developing the wider team and improving reporting processes.

For the right person, there is a clear route to progress into a Financial Director position.

The company is entering an exciting stage of its development, with a new business operation underway and further expansion planned for next year. All operations sit within the same wider business, creating a need for a stronger, fully integrated in-house finance function.

• Improve financial systems, controls and processes as the in-house function develops

• Enhance the quality, accuracy and timeliness of management reporting

• Support the leadership team with financial insight as new operations are established
