The Lead Revenue Accountant will support revenue accounting activities, including contract accounting, revenue recognition, period-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support. The role will collaborate with legal, sales operations, billing, and other teams to ensure accurate contract treatment and revenue recognition.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all areas of revenue accounting including contract entry, revenue recognition and communicating any potential revenue issues to ensure appropriate and timely treatmentWorks closely with Senior Manager on significant issues that impact revenue or the monthly close by performing top-level analysis, attending top-priority meetings, and leading projectsDetermines and assists with the accounting treatment of contracts and other transactionsEnsure revenue is prepared in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606Prepare various journal entries, account reconciliations and revenue disclosure workbooks to support financial statementsParticipates in various process improvement efforts to drive efficienciesAssist with audit requests and other ad-hoc projects and analysis as neededSkills* BA/BS in Accounting and/or Finance, or equivalent work experience* 5+ years of accounting experience* Attention to detail and strong quantitative and analytical skills* Proficient Excel skills and working knowledge of MS Office suite* Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment* Solid business ethics; ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to all Comscore’s financial matters, contracts, and employee data* Knowledge of revenue recognition, preferably ASC 606, or aptitude to read accounting guidance and company policy to learnCompany OverviewComscore (NASDAQ: SCOR) is a global, trusted partner for planning, transacting and evaluating media across platforms.
