Note The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking an Interim Financial Services Counsel for a nationwide broker-dealer and investment advisor. The role provides legal and regulatory advice for brokerage and investment advisory operations, supports advisor conversions and platform migrations, drafts agreements and regulatory filings, and collaborates with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day legal support for LPL’s financial services business, including providing legal analysis and advice with respect to applicable rules, regulations and legal risk relating to the brokerage and investment advisory business Provide advisor conversion and integration support, including advice and counsel on legal and regulatory implications of business migrations, repapering efforts, bulk transfers, and operational changes Drafting and modifying client agreements, account documentation and disclosures, and filings with regulators. Performing legal research and drafting memorandums concerning compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations Interacting with other members of the Legal Department as well as other LPL units including, amongst other departments, Compliance and Risk Some commercial contract review as assigned by senior members of the team Skills 5+ years in-house counsel experience advising onFINRA rules, SEC regulations, Exchange Act requirements, and state securities laws • J.D. from an accredited law school & active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar • 5-10 years of in-house experience in dealing with issues arising under the Securities Exchange Act, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, reputed company rules/regulations as well as related federal & state securities laws • Experienced in legal writing, legal research (reputed company preferred) & written communication skills • Experienced with the regulatory landscape applicable to broker-dealers and registered investment advisers, including familiarity with regulatory processes (SEC and reputed company) • Experience with supporting financial institutions in conversions and reputed company regulatory applications Company Overview reputed company is unmatched in the legal talent we attract, the services we provide and the global reach we possess.
