[Remote] Vice President of Accounting

Note The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RSP Group is seeking a senior enterprise accounting leader to oversee accounting operations across a complex, multi-entity organization. The role is responsible for financial reporting, consolidation, technical accounting, internal controls, audit coordination, team leadership, and transforming accounting through standardization, automation, technology, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead enterprise accounting operations across the family of companies, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely financial reporting for a business with revenues exceeding $20 billion Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, driving discipline, efficiency, and continuous improvement Oversee multi-entity consolidation and intercompany accounting, including eliminations, reconciliations, and consolidated financial statement preparation Provide accounting leadership on complex project-based and construction-related matters, including revenue recognition, contract accounting, joint ventures, claims, and other technical accounting issues Establish, maintain, and enhance accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements Research and resolve complex technical accounting matters, lead adoption of new accounting standards, and document accounting conclusions through formal technical memoranda Ensure balance sheet integrity through strong reconciliation, review, and oversight processes Lead the enterprise accounting governance and internal control framework, including accounting standards, delegation of authority, control quality, compliance monitoring, and financial reporting risk management Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and lead the annual audit process for a large, complex, multi-billion-dollar organization Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Risk, IT, and Operations to provide accounting insight, improve business processes, and support strategic decisions Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team, with a focus on performance management, succession planning, talent development, and leadership depth Drive transformation across accounting through process redesign, standardization, automation, workflow optimization, and improved use of financial systems Lead change management efforts related to accounting processes, systems, controls, and technology implementations Evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including AI, RPA, workflow tools, analytics, and ERP capabilities, to improve accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and decision support Lead accounting integration for acquisitions and support post-merger integration, system implementation, and broader finance transformation initiatives Develop and monitor enterprise accounting metrics related to close effectiveness, control quality, automation, productivity, talent, and service delivery Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • CPA license required • 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance leadership • Experience in public accounting • Experience in construction, project accounting, or another complex project-based environment • 5+ years of experience leading teams across geographically dispersed or decentralized organizations • Experience leading external audits for large, complex, multi-billion-dollar organizations • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP, consolidations, internal controls, and financial reporting • Proven ability to operate in complex multi-entity environments • Strong executive communication skills, including experience presenting accounting matters to senior leadership • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field • CGMA certification • Change management certification such as Prosci, CCMP, or equivalent • Experience leading finance transformation, ERP implementations, process automation, or large-scale organizational change • Experience leveraging data analytics, AI, RPA, workflow tools, or other technology solutions within accounting or finance • Experience with acquisitions, accounting integrations, and post-merger integration • Experience operating in global or highly decentralized environments Company Overview RSP Group is a global Executive Search and Consulting practice.
