Software Engineer(Python/Backend) – Professional Services Firm – $130,000-$160,000

Two openings on a growing Data Operations team, building an enterprise data platform from the ground up.

This is a fully remote role with a U.S.-based professional services firm. Their technology, AI and data teams are expanding fast, and you’d be joining at exactly the right moment.

The team is building its data platform on Microsoft Fabric. The Data Engineers own the core pipelines, and you’ll be the Python engineer who handles everything around them: building custom integrations with third-party APIs, pulling data out of older systems that don’t connect easily, parsing messy and deeply nested data, and automating routine work alongside the Cloud and Database teams. No two weeks look the same, and you’ll be the person the team turns to when the standard tools can’t solve a problem.

This role suits a software engineer who enjoys working with data, rather than a data engineer or data scientist. You’ll have strong production Python experience, ideally from backend, integrations or automation work, and you’ll be comfortable consuming RESTful APIs and dealing with authentication, pagination and rate limits. You’ll parse and transform JSON, XML and CSV using Pandas, write solid SQL, and have some exposure to PySpark or a platform like Fabric, Databricks or Synapse. You write clean, tested code, use Git and CI/CD as standard, and know that a “quick script” often ends up being something the business relies on.

Just as important, you can connect your work to the bigger picture. You’ll be working with stakeholders across the firm, so you’ll need to understand what the business needs, explain technical trade-offs in plain terms, and show how your work makes a difference.

You’ll get full remote flexibility, hands-on experience with a modern data platform, and a real part in the AI and data initiatives shaping how the firm operates.
