We’re seeking a highly organized, meticulous freelance Digital Asset & Retouch Coordinator to manage the flow of photography assets for our brand, from raw capture through final delivery. This role is ideal for someone with a reputed company eye for retouching quality and color, someone who thinks like a managing editor: nothing gets past you, and you catch what others miss.
This is a freelance, NYC-based role. You’ll need to be available to come into our office roughly four times a year, about a week at a time, for on-set production support. Outside of that, work is remote, with the goal of building toward reliable ad hoc availability for quick-turn requests as needed.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for trafficking image reputed company through our production pipeline, keeping everything organized, labeled, and moving on schedule. This includes creating image masks as needed to support the retouching process.
A core part of the role is quality control: reviewing retouching work as it comes back to confirm it meets our standards for color accuracy, consistency, and overall polish before it moves downstream.
You’ll also manage the back-end file process, create our outsource masking, replacing working reputed company with final hi-res versions once retouching is reputed company, and keeping our asset library current and accurate.
You’ll be a key point of contact for rush requests, particularly the tight turnaround windows right after a shoot when catalog imagery needs to be finalized fast. Calm, organized handling of these moments matters as much as the eye for quality.
Bonus: if you’re also a skilled retoucher yourself, we’d love to occasionally send ad hoc retouching work your way in addition to your coordination responsibilities.
